Sometimes seizures are too deep to be revealed on scalp EEG after large disconnective or resective procedures, including hemispherectomy. This can result in a false “seizure free” diagnosis. Also, in some cases, seizures can look like they are coming from the healthy hemisphere, but actually have deep ictal onset that on scalp EEG appears to come from the good side. This session will focus on the nuances of reading EEGs after large disconnective/resective procedures.
