Self Determination Workshop: Building Your Own Vision Board

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

Feedback form is now closed.
People with intellectual and/or developmental developmental disabilities have the same right to self-determination as all people. They must have opportunities and experiences that enable them to exert control in their lives and to advocate on their own behalf.  This workshop will help teens and adults who had brain surgery to stop seizures learn all about self-determination. This workshop includes building your own vision board - a collage that represents some of your goals and aspirations. Your vision board may include answers to:
  • What activities do you want to learn how to do?
  • What hobbies and activities do you already do, but want to continue doing or get better at?
  • What are your career goals? What steps will you have to accomplish along the way to be able to eventually land your dream job? (For example, do you need a particular degree, or will you need to secure an internship?)
  • What are your personal relationship goals?
This workshop is best for teens and adults who have had brain surgery in childhood to stop seizures. Parents are welcome to attend with their child as well.
